ISD Film Festival 2026
That's a Wrap on the 2026 ISDFF Edition!
The 5th edition of the Festival has come to a close with the presentation of the final two awards at the closing ceremony held at the Lycée Français International de Hong Kong.
This year, our Grand Jury chose to honour the film Me Oi (Hanoi), winner of the Society category, which addresses the slow and difficult acceptance of homosexuality in Vietnam. A film of great sincerity and sensitivity, with a remarkable cinematic vision.
The public vote went to the film Au travail les enfants (Hong Kong), created by Ms Alexandra Cabrit's CE2 class. A reflection on the theme of child labour, solidly documented and brought to life through a resolutely forward-looking approach.
The Festival also recognises the film "Ce qu'il reste de toi", a poignant story about thalassaemia, a genetic disease that particularly affects children in Vietnam. With 1,908 views, it was the most-watched film of the Festival.
It is never easy to choose between films that are all so different in their subjects, perspectives, and artistic approaches. We commend the efforts of all jury members who took on this demanding task. These choices take nothing away from the quality of the films that did not receive a prize this year — they were watched attentively and will continue to be. The greatest reward for a film is to be seen, to move people, to raise awareness or spark debate, and the Festival will continue to amplify the voices of all the young people who still have so much to say!

43 Films, 6 Cities, One Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future
The International Sustainable Development Film Festival 2026 is in full swing! This year, 43 short films created by students from around the world are online and already being watched by a growing audience! A special award will be presented to the film with the highest number of views — so don't forget to watch, comment, share, and support your favourite projects!
In addition to the online competition, each category of the festival will be celebrated through public screenings and local award ceremonies, organised by our partner schools around the world.
At the end of May, an online public vote will open to elect the audience's favourite film among the category winners.
Finally, the festival will conclude in Hong Kong on June 5 with the Closing Ceremony, featuring the presentation of the Grand Prix du Jury and the Audience Award. You can already reserve your seats here: ISDFF 2026 Closing Ceremony & Open Art Night – Eventbrite

Meet our Grand Jury
The 5th edition of the International Sustainable Development Film Festival concludes tomorrow with the closing ceremony, starting at 6pm, on the TKO campus of the French International School of Hong Kong. Join us from 4pm to take part in the many workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and parades organized by our students.
The Festival's award list is already filled with profound and creative films, watched attentively by more than 100 jury members from around the world, who were able to exchange viewpoints and debate to reach the best possible consensus.
Tomorrow, two particularly meaningful awards will be presented: the audience award, for which you voted in very large numbers. And the Grand Prix du Festival 2026; an opportunity to meet this year's Grand Jury members.

Jérôme Diamant-Berger
Jérôme Diamant-Berger is a French film director, screenwriter and producer. Grandson of filmmaker Henri Diamant-Berger, he made his mark with his innovative documentaries and fiction films, notably with his film L'Unique (1986), which was the first in France to integrate computer-generated images into a feature film. He now leads the AI working groups for the ARP (Author-Director-Producer). Deeply committed to artistic continuity, he also devotes himself to showcasing and restoring the family film heritage.
Arnaud Lanuque
Arnaud Lanuque is an audiovisual attaché at the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, where he promotes French audiovisual content. He is also the author of two books and numerous articles on Hong Kong cinema.
Julia Liotard-Vogt
Julia Liotard-Vogt is the Executive Director of the Alliance Française de Hong Kong, where she supports the institution's mission to promote French language education and cultural exchanges in Hong Kong. A resident of the city for sixteen years, she transitioned from a career in business development to a focus on education and cultural initiatives, and is a strong advocate for integrating sustainable development into all forms of culture.
Rupert McCowan
Rupert McCowan has 35 years of experience as a geographer and explorer and is Director of the Royal Geographical Society – Hong Kong. His research areas include fluvial and glacial geomorphology, as well as desert cultures.
Anne-Claire Poignard
Anne-Claire Poignard is a senior reporter at France Télévisions and substitute anchor for Télématin's news broadcasts, having begun her career at France 2 in 2011. She has covered news in France and abroad. Prix Varenne 2020 winner with her team for the series "Les sourires de l'espoir" on the work of Chaîne de l'Espoir medical teams in Mali. She is a graduate of Sciences-Po Paris and the Centre de Formation des Journalistes. She lives in Hong Kong.
Carmen Tsang
Carmen Tsang is Head of Sustainable Investment Banking for Greater China at Crédit Agricole CIB. She sits on the advisory board of the Green and Sustainable Finance bachelor's degree program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). A passionate film enthusiast, she is also a member of the Film Censorship Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong SAR Government.

The International Sustainable Development Film Festival proudly opens its 5ᵗʰ edition, marking a new milestone in its growth and global reach.
This year's Festival not only celebrates the creativity and commitment of young filmmakers around the world, but also the launch of its official website — a dedicated platform designed to bring together an ever‑growing international community.
Born from a shared conviction that education can (and must) shape the world of tomorrow, the Festival invites students to explore the major challenges of our time — environmental, social, economic, and cultural — through the lens of cinema. By making films, they learn to collaborate, to question, to take action, and to become true change‑makers.
Over the years, the Festival has united schools from Asia, Europe, and beyond, creating bridges between cultures and perspectives. Today, it aims to amplify its impact:
- by offering young people a platform to express their real concerns and hopes,
- by helping them find their voice and their place as engaged citizens,
- by offering audiences a glimpse of the world through the eyes of our youth,
- by building a vibrant global community around creative education and sustainable development,
- and by celebrating inspiring and open education, where ideas and creativity foster collective action.
This 5ᵗʰ edition will feature new partners, expanded participation, and events hosted both on campuses and online. More than ever, the Festival embodies the spirit of "learning by doing, learning by sharing", showing how film can be a powerful tool for awareness, empathy, and change.
